How do I throw a football more accurately?

I’ve heard from someone that by releasing the football right after it passes your head increases your accuracy. But I’ve always been extending my arm all the way to throw. I don’t know which way improves throwing accuracy, or if one is used for bullets and the other for lobs. I really don’t know, and I need advice.

    pretend it’s a bomb!

    First and foremost…
only perfect practice makes for perfect performance.

If you have no technique and you practice like a crazy man …
you’ll have Mastered the lack of technique.

The ball goes in the direction your non dominate foot points.
So, if you are right handed – point your left toe where you want the ball to go.

Next…the ball starts behind your ear…
lead with your elbow…and release as you near the end of your projection …

At the moment of release, you will roll your fingers off the ball with a snapping effect.

Follow through is important…but not the only factor.

Believe it or not you shouldnt change your arm motion for any type of throw. If your going to throw a bomb use the same motion, a touch pass use the same motion, a bullet the same motion. When you can see the ball about two o clock of your throwing motion is time to release. Too soon ball will sail , too late ball will be well horrible. What makes you accurate is the ability to throw the ball either its a bomb, bullet or a touch
pass without having to adjust your throwing motion is the key to accuracy. Been there and done that played qb as well as a relief pitcher. Start throwing the football at a old tire hung up on a rope. Go through your drop back motion 5 step drop back or the 7 step drop back and toss the ball into the hole of that tire. Now for touch passes I used a barrel. I would go through my drop back steps I used 5 steps and not changing my technique throw the ball into the barrel.
You notice the you need to adjust the balls projectory but you’ll be astonished that it can be changed by having same release and same follow through. All i can say, dont change your technique on how you throw the ball, that will keep you accurate. I did , and I was even better when I was on the run .
I cant remember that qb that played for Kentucky Wildcats last year but that kid had the best technique in throwing the ball, it was beautifull in fact. Round up some footage of him last year and study his throwing technique . Arm motion , release point etc…, notice how he never changed his motion on any type of pass he threw, bomb, touch or bullet. Even on the run he had same arm motion and release point.

you can try just throwing how u usually throw then try having your toe point where u want it to be thrown and then don’t lift your foot up after the throw
