I live in Australia, college football is fianally being broadcasted over here and I want to decide on a team. I am looking for a team that has an historic stadium, won championships, has loyal and supportive fans, and is an all round good football team. Any idea’s?

Florida Gators!!! Gators would be your best bet. That is if you like championship teams. There is no place more historic in Gainsville, Florida than the “Swamp”. Seriosly every other college team is pretty lame except for maybe the University of Alabama Crimson Tide

Be like every other wanna be in America and go for whoever is winning.

OR – get out and play yourself; there are great teams in Australia.
It’s only 9 man ball but it’s still great. Sydney has “The Lions”

Hey man! Do you get it on Skycable? I’m in the Philippines right now in Pre- for my new project and they have a sweet NFL Package too. Anyway, I’m no help on which team to root for, I just pull for the Alma Mater, BC Eagles! Thick and Thin Yeah!

USC probably not a bad choice, but you will probably be called out as a bandwagon fan, since they are the current #1

Ohio State ………….lots of history and 7 championships.

How about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish? They have a ton of history. Their all time record is 825–278–42. They don’t have a great team now, but they are rebuilding. You will avoid the bandwagon label if your worried about that.

You can’t get much more historic than Notre Dame football.

If you are going for the historic stadium, I’d go with USC, considering that stadium has been the site of two of the most historically important Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984. (the only two games of comparable historic importance were the Summer Games of 1936 and 1980.)
If you are going for championships I’d go with USC who is tied with Notre Dame for most national championships since the forward pass was legalized in 1906. If you want a good all around team, go with USC. After all, how many other schools have a career backup QB (Matt Cassel) starting for any NFL team, let alone one that went to the Super Bowl last year?

    That’s easy. Ohio State.
They have a storied tradition, a world-renown band, a boat load of fans, well-behaved players and a classy coach.
They have won their conference championship the last two years. They consistenly win BCS bowl games (for the most part). Their past teams and coaches are legendary.

Can’t find that total package anywhere else!

    GO BUCKS!

try the schools with the most history….

    texas
    alabama
    flordia
notre damn – has a huge painting/building of “jesus” right next to stadium called touchdown jesus
    usc
    tennesse

all of these places have a 90 thousand plus stadium

Notre Dame, the most prestigious NCAA football team ever. 11 nat. champ. and they’re not that good this year. So, if you become a fan you won’t be considered a bandwagon.

The only reason they’re not good is because Weis has seemed very flat as a coach the past two years. Plus, they’re in a rebuilding process. They had the #2 recruiting class this past year and should be in the top 5 again this year. Go Irish!

My first choice would be Ohio State man. If you’ve ever been to a game, then you already know how loyal the fans can be. Nothing like being there live, buddy!! You’d be hard pressed to find a better team. Granted, the win/loss isn’t always the greatest, but they go out there and play like its the payoffs every time. Can’t ask for much more than that, man!
